Creating Windows or Real Media content

Two common video formats used on the internet today are Windows and Real Media. In order to create one of these files, you will need a video/audio input source (i.e. - video camera), a computer with video/audio capture cards, and a program to encode your source into the media of your choosing (i.e. - Real Producer, Windows Media Encoder).

Creating Windows Media files:

Microsoft offers its encoding program, Windows Media Encoder, free for download here from the Microsoft website. This tool will allow you to begin creating Windows Media content.

Creating Real media files:

Real offers a basic version of their encoding program, Real Producer, free for download here from the Real website. This tool will allow you to begin creating Real media content. As you become more experienced, or if your requirements are more sophisticated, enhanced versions of Real Producer are available for a price.
